Abbotshaw House dates back to the 15th Century. It is situated in the attractive Liddesdale Valley of the Scottish Borders, just South of the village of Newcastleton. This unspoilt area of the Scottish Borders is only 21 miles from the M6 motorway. It boasts truely spectacular scenery.

The farmhouse stands in a very secluded position within 363 acres of private farmland and woodland with ample parking and secure storage for bikes etc. It is an ideal base for those wanting peace and tranquility or a holiday exploring the history, culture and wildlife of the Border Reivers country.

Liddesdale was once a valley of Border Raiders and warfare when the sword and the lance were in use most days - now it is a quiet land where birds, wild orchids and red squirrels flourish. The village of Newcastleton (also known as Copshaw Holm) was designed and built by the Duke of Buccleugh in 1792 and now is a thriving community with a coffee shop, tea room, gift shop, bank and Post Office.

Abbotshaw House offers guests a warm welcome, large comfortable beds and hearty Scottish breakfasts.
